Make Your Own Salad Dressing

Lora Reardon March 31, 2010

What makes a superior salads is the dressing.

Homemade salad dressings can be prepared quickly; literally seconds before your meal is on the table.  The ingredients are fresh and fragrant, basic ingredients from your SimplyCooking® pantry.  There is nothing daunting about it.  Making salad dressing is as simple as putting the ingredients in a jar and giving it a good shake.

italian vinaigrette

6 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar

2 Tbsp. lemon juice

2 Tbsp. minced garlic

1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard

1 tsp. dried basil

2 tsp. dried oregano

1/2 tsp. dry mustard

pinch stevia

Salt and pepper, to taste

2/3 cup olive oil

Place all ingredients, except the oil, in a jar.  Shake the jar vigorously. Add the oil and shake well again.
