Mixed spices like Italian seasoning, poultry seasoning and pumpkin pie spice are efficient and used readily in SimplyCooking® recipes. This eliminates the need for so many individual spices that can often loose flavor after prolonged storage.

  • salt, Celtic Sea Salt preferrable

Herbs

A bunch of fresh parsley is inexpensive and readily available. I suggest purchasing this weekly or bi-weekly with produce. It can be used in place of any fresh herb and in myriad ways. If you keep any fresh herb on hand, I suggest parsley. Fresh mint, thyme, sage, rosemary and dill can be chosen and used seasonally. Choose which herbs you prefer and perhaps consider rotating them or keeping a plant going on the windowsill or in the garden.
